LTGTR is a line dance workshop that Eddie and I together with Vivienne Scott hold every October in Toronto.  Thank you to all the dancers who support our events, we couldn't do it without you.

For our October 22 2011 event, we were delighted to have Rosie Multari from the US and Michele Carver as our guest instructors. Vivienne and I also taught as usual.  We start the event at mid-day and have an afternoon of learning some fun dances -- beginner+/ intermediate level.  This is followed by a sit-down meal and an evening dance.

Rosie took on the mantel of teaching dances that everyone could do including two of her own dances ‘Marry You’ and ‘This Life’ plus ‘Mi Papito’ by Forty Arroyo and ‘’Witchcraft’ by Lynne Martino.   The dancers loved her style of teaching and there was much laughter.

Michele taught the challenge of the day ‘Domino’ written by Rachael McEnaney.   This was a fast paced dance with a few tricky steps but Michele was very patient and did an excellent job of instruction and everyone stayed on the floor including the beginners.

It is a tradition for Vivienne and me to write a dance for this event and this year we came up with ‘La Voix (The Voice)’.   If you like a bit of opera with your dancing this will appeal to you!

Special thanks as always to Dale McNeil who spends all year creating amazing baskets for the Gift Auction that raises money for the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.   This year the auction raised $400 and the 50/50 sent one happy dancer home with $113 in her pocket with the other half going to the Canadian Cancer Society.  A second happy dancer won a Certificate for Dancin’ For Miracles 2012 thanks to Valarie Keller. We will post details for the 10th LTGTR in the Spring.

Eddie, Vivienne and I also organize an annual Spring Workshop with international guest instructors.  The 2011 event sold out early and the April 28 2012 event with Maggie Gallagher is sold outnow  already.

It is also always a pleasure to have Michele Carver from Guelph as one of our guest instructors.
Many thanks to everyone who joined us for LTGTR 2011
